Like all of the other reviewers, I've been wearing the Air Optix Aqua for years, but the last batch (12 month supply) I got in June 2017 is like wearing sandpaper in my eyes. I can't have them in for more than a couple hours, and most of the time it is within minutes that my eyes are completely irritated and the contacts just wants to jump out. The only relief is taking them out and wearing my glasses.

I found one last contact left from my old batch in 2016, put it in my eye, and voila, my eye feels amazing with my OLD CONTACT IN!!! There is something wrong with the 2017 batch. I've read that there is a recall on certain batches of the Air Optix, these need to be added:

846566****07 (LOT 1034****)

846566****21 (LOT 1032****)

Hate that I have to spend more money now getting another batch, or switching brands completely.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

I have had exact same issues with the Air Optix Night and Day. Eye irritation, stinging, and an eye infection. I think Alcon needs a class-action lawsuit to โ€œopen their eyes.โ€

omg! iโ€™m so glad iโ€™m reading this, ever since i switched to air optix iโ€™ve been having similar issues ...

i finally started researching today to see if itโ€™s the actual contacts causing my problem... itโ€™s actually very disturbing to find so many people having the same symptoms

I am having the same problems. After a week I canโ€™t wear them because my eyes feel like sand is in my eyes.

Also I cannot see to read. I am going to change to another brand ASAP.

I k ow exactly what you mean. I'm having a hard time with my right eye.

Constantly feels like something is in it an is blurred an almost like a fog is over my eye after I put it in in only an hour of wear. Ive never had an issue before until a new eye dr gave me the hydraglyde crap. I'm goin back to just air optics without the hydraglyde. And how can they charge 60 dollars a box when they are 22 everywhere?!

My contacts always been between 15 an 22 bucks now they tell me I have to get them from them an I'm having issues! And I'm lying my right eye is messed up they say. I dont think so.

Time for a new eye dr yet again. Ever since my old eye dr I had my entore life retired ive been having nothing but problems so I completely know what you mean about not being able to read it almost doubles the words after awhile.

I have the same problems as all of you. Have been wearing Air Optics Aqua for years without any problems but since the addition of either Smartshield technology and HydraGlyde in these lenses I can no longer wear them because of the allergic reaction.

They have become the worst lenses on the market. These so called improvements certainly donโ€™t suit everyone.

Same problem I am having purchased them in January 2019. I have worn the night and Day since they came out without problems until this set.

I have worn contacts since 1976. I have not been able to make it a whole day. Today I put in a pair of daily contacts and no issues (not the night and day). These are 846566****02; lot 3132****.

So aggravated.

Something definitely has changed with these lens. Any help would be great.

I've tried two pairs now from boxes I purchased from my optometrist over the summer. The right especially gets blurry right away and bothers me continually no matter how much i clean it.

The left gets blurry also but less frequently throughout the day. Never had a problem like this before. Lot numbers: 3132**** for the right and 3132**** for the left. Expiration 10/22.

Weird thing is I had two boxes that I bought a year ago from an internet site which expired the same month and year but gave me no problems. ???

I had very similar experiences as the previous posts. My eyes would turn red and become very irritated and painful.

I have seen a specialist multiple times and have had to use several different eye drops. And when my eyes would clear up and I would put my contacts back in, it would instantly happen again. I have gone through an entire box trying to figure this out. So I googled and found this.

Now it all makes sense. Bad batch: 846566****26, lot# 3120**** exp: 2020-09-30 Bought these around july 2017

Bought some from Lens.com and two days ago received a recall notice from the website. I filled in the lot number and it said they were NOT authentic

I have the same problem with my 2017 batch! I just called and asked if they were recalled and they told me they were not. Every pair that I have worn have been irritating to my eyes.

I have had the same problem since March 2018. Called to complain, they said nothing could be done.

My last batch was also bad. I was scared when I started having blurred vision with these contacts on.

I switched to many different contact solutions but did not resolve the issue.

Reading other people having the same issues only confirmed my suspicion that the recent AirOptic contacts were bad or I am allergic to them. Will try Cooper.

Same issue. I bought 8 boxes over a few months so I would have enough on hand. Almost all are defective

Same with me. Thought at first it was an eye infection, nope.

Then changed saline, nope.

I actually through over 12 pair away thinking it would help, nope. I called Alcon only to be told nothing could be done.

I have been using these contact for a few years and this last batch I ordered in April 2018 gave me three eye infections. I tried to war these contacts but finally realized itโ€™s the contacts. This is the lot #1033**** I canโ€™t and wonโ€™t wear these contacts any longer.
